Cycling from Mizen Head to Malin Head
Another fantastic trip (hopefully!) from Peak Tours. A 9-day cycle from Mizen Head (one of the most southerly points) up through the west of Ireland to Malin Head (the most northerly point).
Overview map of the full 9-day route:
For photographs and more about the tour see the individual days:
The day before the cycling started I arrived in Cork on the Aer Lingus morning flight from Manchester. Then a few of us walked from the Montentte Hotel into Cork. It was raining so we headed to the Thomond Bar for some lunch and a taste of real Guinness. After lunch we wondered around a bit in the rain, visited the English Market (trading since 1788) and then headed back to the hotel for the evening meal and introductions to the tour.
As I cycle the route I will add photos, videos and some comments for each day:
Day 1 – Mizen Head to Glengariff
Day 2 – Glengariff to Tralee
Day 3 – Tralee to Lahinch
Day 4 – Lahinch to Galway
Day 5 – Galway to Clifden
Day 6 – Clifden to Westport
Day 7 – Westport to Sligo
Day 8 – Sligo to Portnoo/Narin
Day 9 – Portnoo/Narin to Malin Head
