Cycling from the Channel to the Mediterranean
A 14-day cycle covering over 900 miles through France.
The guides from Peak Tours (Nigel, Lee, Jim & Sam) were fantastic and it was great to meet the other cyclists, which included several from the June 2013 Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) tour. Apart from a bit of rain on the second and third days the weather was beautiful and the scenery was spectacular. Although it was 100 miles shorter, this trip included much more hill climbing than the LEJOG tour. I also ‘sneaked in’ a second 1500m ascent of Mont Ventoux so the total ascent equated to more than 18,000m (60,000 feet), which is over twice the height of Everest!
